Christmas Box Contest!

So I know I just posted a new contest yesterday. but Christmas is a month away and I want to share the spirit of gift giving by giving away a box of books! Plus, it's a nice way to clean out my books before (hopefully) I get a lot of new ones! :)

Here's what the Christmas Box will include:

1. Nobody's Princess by Ester Friesner
2. Radiant Darkness by Emily Whitman
3. Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen
4. How to Say Goodbye in Robot (ARC) by Natalie Standiford
5. Give Up the Ghost (ARC) by Megan Crewe
6. Scribbler of Dreams by Mary E. Pearson
7. Owl in Love by Patricia Kindl
8. Night Runner (ARC) by Max Turner
9. Secrets of Truth and Beauty (ARC) by Megan Frazer
10. The Sweetheart of Prosper County (ARC) by Jill S. Alexander
11. A Special Christmas ornament from me!

The great thing about this box is that even if you don't want to read or have read some of the books, you can re-give them as gifts! (I won't tell, hehe)

Here's how to enter:
1. leave a comment with your email address
2. tell me about a "christmas miracle" (or other holiday miracle) you have either experienced or heard about
3. + 2 for following me
4. + 5 for getting someone else to follow me (the person who then follows me will get another +1 but they have to tell me who referred them)
5. + 3 for posting on your sidebar

Contest ends December 10th (and I will send the box out December 11th)!
Sorry guys, but this one is going to be US only because it's such a big box!

Good Luck!

What a great holiday giveaway! Thanks for the offer!

My oldest son was due in early January but I went into labor about 5 weeks early. It stopped after a day which made my doctor happy but it wasn't so easy for me. Labor kept starting and stopping for 10 days before he was finally born. He was tiny but healthy and we went home Christmas Eve. That was 21 years ago and he was my best Christmas miracle ever!

2. I'm not sure this counts as a miracle, but one year we had two Christmasses! My dad was deployed, and he missed the "first" Christmas, so we all decided to open only one present each on the actual day, and stashed the rest of the presents away for a month. When he got home, we had our second Christmas. It was great, and we considered doing again the next year even though everyone was home, but our patience couldn't be replicated. Maybe it had been a miracle that we were able to wait that long! XD

Oh, wow, what a great contest!

I heard about this from someone somewhere about this family who were really in debt and could not afford anything, much less a Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving. Miraculously they got a whole Thanksgiving dinner delivered to their house by some organization from an anonymous person or something. Pretty nice thing that happened.

A Christmas Miracle? I dont have anything deep but my christmas miracle is my aunts deviled eggs! No seriously, I love those things, and my aunt only makes them once a year, at christmas, and i live for them. Try one and your taste buds will agree that they are indeed a miracle:)

The miracle was the surgeon being honest enough to say he couldn't save his foot/leg but he had "heard' of someone at Duke. Josh has his leg and foot and was home with us by that Christmas!! Best and worst Christmas ever!!

2. When I was 4 years old, the ONLY thing I had asked for for Christmas was snow. I prayed for it every day and wrote letters to santa and begged my mom and dad. It hadn't snowed in Central louisiana in over 80 years, apparently (not just on Christmas - it just hadn't snowed). That year that I wanted snow so badly, it snowed. Just a little. Just enough to make a mini snow man. I guess it's not really a miracle, but it seemed like it to me at the time.

2. My brother's birth was a Christmas miracle. My mom was really sick when she was pregnant and was in the hospital for about a week before Christmas. At five years old I thought my world would end if my Mom wasn't home for Christmas. I prayed so hard that year that my mommy would be able to come home for Christmas. And then by our Christmas miracle she was able to come home on Christmas Eve and stay home until about 2:00 on Christmas day. Then it was back to the hospital and 12 hours later I had a new baby brother. :)

Okay, my very first son was due November 19th. He didn't want to be born. I just got bigger and bigger, he stayed in my belly for longer and longer. Finally he decided to be born. I had him 12 days before Christmas.

Years later, during one of our poorest Christmases ever, (I had four kids by then) I heard a knock on my door. Buy the time I got to the front door there was no one there. But there was a huge basket with toys for each of my kids and even some luxurious bath lotions/soaps and a very, very soft blanket throw for the parents. I never did find out who left it for us, but it was so sweet.

A Christmas miracle? That's easy. On Christmas Eve of 1992, my mom went in to labor and my dad rushed her to the hospital. Early Christmas morning, I was born, a Christmas child :) Whenever my mom hears the song "Silent Night" which was playing in the car as they got to the hospital, she begins to cry at the words "mother and child, holy infant so tender and mild" because of Christmas being my birthday.

Thank you for this wonderful contest and for sharing the holiday cheer!

2) I know that there are miracles each day, but it is especially hard for me to celebrate Christmas since my mom and best friend died on December 19, 2002. It has just never been the same ever since that day. My dad is very sick and wants to join her in heaven. The breast cancer may be coming back in my aunt - my mother's sister - and the bone marrow test is Tuesday. I am having surgery tomorrow and will be having another surgery within the next month. My daughter will not come to see me for any reason and so I cannot see my three year old grandson as I am not well enough to travel. I have had to take medical retirement because my body will not heal from the injury that I received at school as I have systemic lupus. But I know that there is a reason for all of this happening and that God knows what is best for me. Maybe that is the miracle of Christmas for me - that I have faith and know in my heart that whatever happens, it will be best for me.

thank you,

Christine

Hmm.. I don't personally know of any "christmas miracles." But I know that our local radio station does listener wishes every year by helping out those families in need. It is very heartwarming to hear those letters that people send in and then have the station give them money or gifts to help out.
