recommend?

As you may or may not know I've been cleansing myself of vampire literature. But before I do, I'm sampling (or in the case of Vampire Academy devouring) different series and novels. But here's one I have mixed feelings about:
What do you guys think? Should I pick it up? If you love it, why? If you don't, why not?

Hoping to hear your responses! Thanks a billion!

Vampire Academy is far superior to House of Night. I've read the first 3 in the series and they got boring fast.

I read the first four books in the House of Night series, and I didn't care for them at all. I finally gave up. And Like Rebs said, Vampire Academy is definitely higher up on the list.

A lot of people love this series...but I hated that book. I thought it was poorly written, the characters were not developed at all, and the plot was kind of a mess.

There are a lot of other great vamp books out there, tho!

I read Marked, but it was kind of meh. Something you'd read if you wanted to read but had nothing else, not that it's a bad book, but just that there's no connection formed; I didn't care about the characters, so the outcome of the book was of no consequence. I haven't tried the rest, maybe it's a series that improves as it continues?
